Primary and preventive care in Hudson and Trinity, FL

Primary care gives adults one reliable medical home for prevention, new symptoms, and ongoing health needs. Internal Medicine MD provides adult primary care for patients 18 and older at our Hudson and Trinity offices. Each visit connects your health history, medications, screenings, and goals into one practical plan, and our providers work as one team with a shared chart that follows you between our two offices.

What primary care includes

Primary care covers the everyday and long term parts of staying healthy. Your provider looks at the full picture, including how different conditions and medications affect each other. Services include:

• Annual physicals and preventive checkups
• Medicare Annual Wellness Visits and the Welcome to Medicare preventive visit
• Preventive screening based on your age, history, and risk factors
• Vaccination review
• Medication review and refill management
• Evaluation of common adult health concerns and new symptoms
• Monitoring of blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, weight, and kidney function

When testing is needed, in office blood draws and EKG testing can keep more of your care in one place. If you live with several ongoing conditions, primary care connects directly with chronic disease management, so your plan stays organized and current.

Preventive care can help find health problems early, when treatment is often simpler and more effective. Recommendations vary by age, medical history, family history, and personal risk. Your provider reviews these factors with you and tailors screenings to your needs.

Primary care visits can also include thyroid care, medical weight management, and earwax removal, and many follow ups can happen by telehealth.

What to expect at your visit

Your first visit starts with a detailed review of your health history, current medications, allergies, prior testing, specialists, and the concerns that matter most to you. Bring your insurance card, a photo ID, your medication list (or the bottles themselves), and any records you would like the team to review.

During a typical visit you can expect:

1. A focused conversation about symptoms, daily habits, and health goals
2. A physical exam based on the purpose of the visit
3. A review of screenings, vaccines, lab work, and medication needs
4. Clear next steps, including follow up timing and specialist coordination
5. Time to ask questions before you leave

Some concerns can be handled in one visit. Others may need lab results, imaging, or a follow up appointment. The team explains what is known, what still needs evaluation, and what the next step is. You also receive guidance about medication refills and how results will be shared, including through the patient portal.

Established patients may use telehealth video visits through the Healow app when an in person exam is not needed. The portal also lets you message the care team, view results, and request refills.

You can be seen at our Trinity office on Little Road or at our Hudson office. The same care team and shared chart support you at both.

New patients age 18 and older are welcome at both offices. Appointment availability is determined by the office. Visits are available in English, Spanish, and Arabic. In Trinity, you can see Amanda Durrett, FNP-BC, or Dr. John Hanna, who alternates weeks between our offices.

Insurance and coverage

Primary care is commonly covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and many commercial plans, including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Humana, and UnitedHealthcare. Preventive visits and problem focused visits may be billed differently, and participation varies by plan and office. Please call the office before your appointment so the team can verify your coverage.
